Paddle320 | Pete's Ocean Challenge
On Saturday 28 November 2009 Pete Wells launched his ‘spec’ skis off Boomerang Beach near Forster, then turned south, and began his 320km epic paddle down the coast of NSW. He will encounter strong winds, waves, dehydration, fatigue and, in all probability, not overly friendly sea-life.
So, why 320km?
Bowel cancer is Australia’s second biggest cancer killer. It claims 320 lives a month in this country. It’s on the increase, particularly amongst younger people. But it can be cured if detected early. Doug and Pete hope to raise awareness and reduce the impact bowel cancer is having on Aussie communities.
A kilometre for every life claimed by this insidious disease. Paddle 320.
